The 40W Luanti Servers

Why did I create these servers?

I liked Minecraft and I am a fan of Free and/or Open Source Software, indeed Luanti and the rest of the software is all Open Source! e.g.: the Debian operating system, Luanti, Voxelibre, the various mods, NANO (the cryptocurrency I accept below as donations), DeepSeek (the AI chatbot that created this web page and gave me other help), etc…

"Solo Un Altro Clone" Luanti Server

with Voxelibre game

This is my first Luanti server, at the time still "Minetest", the server has been active since 2019!

It was hosted on a small VPS, the initial cost was €3.5 per month, lately it reached more than €10 per month due to unilateral increases by the provider!

Therefore I moved the server to a local mini-pc (Orange Pi 4 Pro) and routing traffic through a cheaper VPS (because it will only pass data, so it needs lower technical specifications).

The cost per month is very low now, only extra one-time cost was buying the Orange Pi 4 Pro + power supply and I spent around €70.

"SUAC 2" Luanti Server

with Mineclonia game

This is the new server, active only since December 2025, hosted on a Raspberry PI 4b and with a tunnel to my VPS (for this it has the same IP as the other server, only different port), this because my home network is behind NAT, therefore not directly accessible from the outside for this purpose.

The cost is very low, it uses services I already pay for anyway or I had before (Raspberry PI 4b I bought this years ago and used it for many purposes before), VPS, Internet, Electricity — increasing only the electricity cost by a few cents per month probably, a rough calculation with the help of AI gave me about €10/year.
